Download the APK on your phone and open it. The app is not in Google Play yet, so Android asks you to allow installs from your browser and may show a Play Protect notice.
Ompera Provider opens and asks you to connect your phone.

On your computer, open Workspace → Devices ↗ and click Connect a phone. In the app, tap Scan QR, or Enter manually and type the code.
Is Workspace open on the phone itself? Tap Open in the Ompera app there, then Connect in the app.

No camera, the app did not open, or the code expired?
Without a camera, use Enter manually. If Open in the Ompera app brought you to this page, the app is missing or too old: install or update it, then try again or type the code. A code works for 10 minutes; create a new one in Workspace if it expires. It links the app to your account and is not an API key.
Choose what to share
In the app, turn on Chat model, open its settings and pick a model your phone supports.
You can also turn on services: Translation, Text from images, Speech to text and Text embeddings. Each is separate, with its own engine built for that task and its own settings, so share any mix, with or without a model.
Under the list, choose who can use the chat model. Me and my pools is where a new install starts: only your own API keys and the members of your pools can send requests, at the address my/<name> the app shows (Change renames it). Everyone on Ompera opens it to anyone with an Ompera key. The services are always shared with everyone.

Start and wait for Online
Tap Start sharing. The first start downloads and prepares what you chose, which can take a while. Ompera then sends each model and service a test request; one that fails stays offline while the others work.

A model shared with everyone appears in Workspace → Models under “Ompera network”; one kept to you and your pools is listed under its my/ address. Services appear under “Services”.
You choose who can use the chat model. Shared with everyone on Ompera, it is free for everyone, including you: use it in your apps. Kept to you and your pools, only your keys and your pool members can use it. Either way the standard app does not show other people's prompts. This does not guarantee privacy from someone who controls or modifies the phone; see Privacy & security.
Availability, battery and stopping
Availability depends on your phone's memory, temperature, power settings and Android's app restrictions. If the app pauses for safety, wait for it to return to Online. Unattended 24/7 service is not promised during the beta.
To stop, tap Stop in the app.
Does Android need LM Studio or the extension?
