Share your model

Pools: use each other's models.

A pool is a group of people. Everyone in it can use every member's connected model with their own API key, so you share computing power without sharing keys. It's free.

Before you invite anyone: requests to a member's model run on that member's computer, so they and Ompera can read them. Only pool with people you trust.

  1. Create a pool

In Workspace → Pools, give it a name such as HomeLab. The name starts every model address in the pool.

  2. Invite people

Choose how long the link works, click Create invitation link and send it to the people you trust.

    • Works until revoked: several people can join with the same link, until you click Revoke link.
    • Works once, for one person: the link stops working after the first person joins.

Tick People who join with this link can invite others if they may bring people in themselves. Copy the link right after you create it; it cannot be shown again.

They open the link, sign in and click Join the pool.
  3. Use the pool's models

Every model a member connects appears in the pool as <pool>/<model>, for example HomeLab/qwen3-4b. Apps that list models (GET /v1/models) show them in their model picker, like the models of a local server.

Use them with a key that allows Unshielded models: see Use AI in your apps.

When a model goes offline

  • If several members run the same model, its pool address answers from whichever copy is online and free. Nothing to set up.
  • If no member runs it right now, each API key decides what happens. In Workspace → API keys, open the key's Settings, choose what happens If a model is offline — Return an error (default), Use the same model from my pools or Use any model from my pools — and click Save. The response's model field and the X-Ompera-Model header show which model answered.

Members and statistics

  • The pool's creator chooses for each member whether they Can invite, and can Revoke access. A removed person cannot rejoin through invitation links until the creator chooses Allow to join again; they then accept a link themselves. Anyone can leave and later accept an active invitation again.
  • Revoking a link stops new joins. Current members keep their access. Changing who can invite does not revoke existing links.
  • Under Pool settings the creator can rename or delete the pool. Renaming changes every model address in it, so members' apps need the new addresses.
  • Statistics show, for the last 7 days, how many requests and tokens each member used and served, and which models were used. Everyone in the pool sees them. Prompts and answers are never stored.
  • Your models are shared only while they are connected. Stop the connector and they disappear from the pool.
