Help
Find the fix for what you see.
Pick the symptom. Each answer gives a check and the next step.
I can't create an account or sign in
- Passkeys need a current browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox) and a device with a screen lock, Touch ID, Face ID or Windows Hello.
- If you cancelled the prompt, click the button again. Some password managers show their own passkey prompt — that's fine.
- “This passkey is not linked to an Ompera account”: you picked a passkey for another account, or haven't created one yet — use Create a free account.
- No passkey available? Use Continue with a crypto wallet instead.
The connector asks me to add the extension
- Install it from the extension guide, then click I've installed it — continue (or reload the page).
- Use the same Chrome profile where you installed it, and make sure it's switched on in
chrome://extensions. - “Extension update required”: download the new version, replace the files in the same folder, click reload on the extension card and reload the page (steps).
“No model server found”
- LM Studio: open Developer and click Start server; load a model.
- Ollama: make sure the Ollama app is running.
- Server on an unusual port? Enter its address (ending with
/v1) under Advanced settings and click Read models from this address. - The extension's toolbar icon says Stopped? Click Allow connections there, then scan again.
Connect fails or the model check doesn't pass
- The model must be loaded (or your server must load it on request). Large models can take a while on the first request.
- “The local server rejected the API token”: enter your server's token under Advanced settings, or turn off authentication in the server.
- Only one connector tab per Chrome profile can share at a time. A second connector tab shows the live one: click Switch to that tab, or Stop sharing to connect another model.
- Features like tools or JSON are optional; the page lists which ones your model passed.
The connector says “Restoring the connection…”
- The tab lost its connection (the computer slept, the page was reloaded, the network dropped) and is reconnecting by itself. You don't need to click anything; the line under the title says what it is waiting for.
- It stays there? Check that your model server is running and the model is loaded, and that the computer is online.
- To change the model or its settings, click Stop sharing first. Sharing never resumes after Stop — in the tab, in the extension or in Devices — or after you sign out.
What an error from the API means
| Error code | Meaning and fix |
|---|---|
invalid_api_key | The key is missing, mistyped or revoked. Use an Ompera API key (not your server's token). |
model_not_found | No such my/… or pool model for this account. Copy the address from Models in your workspace; you may have left the pool, or it was renamed. |
unshielded_access_required | The key can't use models connected from a computer. Create a key with Allow Unshielded models. |
provider_unavailable | The model is offline: open its connector tab (or the Android app) and wait for “live”/“Online”. For translation, text from images, speech to text or embeddings: no provider offers the service right now; try again later. |
model_busy | The model is answering someone else. Retry in a few seconds. |
unsupported_model_capability | The request uses a feature (tools, JSON…) this model didn't pass. Remove it or use another model. |
client_concurrency_exceeded | Too many requests at once with this key. Wait for one to finish. |
request_timeout | The model took too long. Check that it's loaded and try a shorter request. |
Every code, and whether to retry it: Errors and limits.
Someone in my pool can't use a model
- Did they join? They appear under Members in Workspace → Pools. An invitation link works until it is revoked; a one-time link stops working after the first person joins, so each person needs their own. If access was revoked for a person, the pool's creator must choose Allow to join again before that person can accept a link.
- Their key needs Allow Unshielded models, and the address must be exactly
<pool>/<model>as shown under Models. - The member who runs the model must have their connector tab open and live; otherwise requests get
provider_unavailable, unless the key falls back to another model.
I stopped sharing but my model still gets requests
- Check other Chrome profiles and tabs: the extension's toolbar icon lists connector tabs and has Stop for all of them.
- The Ompera Android app runs separately — stop it in the app.
- A request that was already running may finish after you stop; new ones are refused.
Android: pairing or model problems
See Run a model on Android. Pairing codes expire after 10 minutes; create a new one in Workspace → Devices.
